Entertaining is not about showing what you can serve; it is about serving others. Nothing makes people know that you care about them more than serving what they enjoy.
Make certain you are aware of your guests’ favorite foods and drinks; that is one of the keys to entertaining so your home immediately exudes warmth.
My husband and I host in our home for so many occasions – holidays, game-watching parties, birthdays, etc. I have certain meals and desserts that our friends have commented they love, so those dishes have become mainstays.
When people ask for recipes, I am sometimes embarrassed to share how quick and easy many of them are.
Chicken salad is one of those recipes that is a favorite of guests. The ingredients are Hellman’s Mayonnaise (It is called Best Mayonnaise in some parts of the country), lots of chopped celery and drained canned chicken breast! That’s it! Making it a day early and refrigerating it really helps the flavors to mix. I believe it is the mayonnaise that makes the difference. No salt needed, but black pepper is a nice addition. I serve it on small yeasty rolls or French Rolls.
Good food is not always indicated by how hard the preparation is; it is surely about the final result of how it tastes!
