If you are looking to create photos that have more impact, there are a few easy things you can do. Throughout my photo-related blogs, I will be giving tips and ideas on how to create those photos.
Everyone has a camera on his phone and can take snapshots and candids of family, friends, events and sights. Those are absolutely important for scrapbooks and memories! If you want to take your photography to the next level, the first step is to learn how your phone camera works and how the editing portion can help you.
Most phone cameras have several photo options – photo, portrait, square, etc. Take time to do a sample “photo shoot” with the same subject but using each mode so that you understand what each one offers. Then select a photo and go to your edit mode. Typically, you will have options for lighting, color saturation, cropping, black and white, etc. Again, take the time to use your sample photos to see what each edit function does and how it changes your photograph. I tend to like more color saturation and higher contrast, but that is not a pre-requisite to have a high-quality photograph.
A Surely Good Tip: No amount of editing will fix photos that are out of focus.
